Business Networking FAQs
Can anyone join a u.s. referrals networking group?
No. To join u.s. referrals you must first be recommended by an existing member. In addition, we only take one person per category in each group. Prospective members must be approved by existing local group.
How do you know new members are reputable?
Prospective members are people that existing members know, trust, and most likely have done business with before. In addition, prospective members have to be approved by the entire group they wish to join. Both factors help ensure integrity of the group and u.s. referral member base.
What if a member gets a referral and does poor work?
We have an ethics committee and it is imperative that anyone who gives a lead and finds out it was not satisfactorily handled must report that to the ethics committee, who will investigate.
What occupations benefit the most from networking?
It is not the occupation, it is the individual. The occupation can be anything. If you are focused, pro-active, assertive, ethical, and you are willing to put forth an effort, you are the type of person we want as a Member.
Are members supposed to bring visitors?
Members are encouraged to invite people they know and trust to visit a meeting. Since the member must "vouch" for the visitor when they refer them to u.s. referrals, visitors are typically friends, family, business associates or individual they have done business with before.
Do ethical rules for certain professions prohibit participation in u.s. referrals?
u.s. referrals understands the importance of the ethical concerns governing certain professions and acknowledges that rules can differ by location. As such, u.s. referrals therefore requires its members to uphold the rules of the network and its profession so as not to violate the professional’s ethical obligations.
How many people attend each meeting?

What are the meeting times?
Meetings are typically held between 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. or noon - 1 p.m. However, they are not "breakfast" or "lunch". Coffee, water and juice are provided at no cost to Members.
How often are the meetings held?
We understand that time is a precious commodity. Our groups meet once a month for one hour only. This is a blessing for most business owners and professionals who found the time commitment of other networking groups to be prohibitive.
Is one hour a month enough to build relationships?
No, our meetings are meant to be convenient and productive. We have time-tested relationship building program.
Is there a membership fee?
u.s. referrals is a professional organization of members that are serious about referral marketing. As such, there is an annual pre-paid membership fee.
